If Nollywood operates under any sort of motto, it might be ‘out with the old and in with the new’. An actor or actress’ star rises to its zenith before slowly passing into memory and a new star makes an upward ascent. These young fresh faces often burst into the spotlight through one or two breakout films and roles. Once they enter the limelight, it’s hard to keep them out of it. Suddenly, they are everywhere. The producers and marketers want these up and coming stars in their films, hoping that their appeal will earn the picture a good chunk of change.

Tayo Sobola popularly called Sotayo is one of the most desirable young actresses in the Yoruba movie industry at the moment. And that is because she has a lot going for her. This up-to-the-minute role interpreter, started as a model/video vixen before dabbling into acting. The Olabisi Onabanjo University alumnus, has featured in over 20 Nollywood titles and as a producer, she has 3 movies under her belt.

Bukola Adeeyo is without a shadow of doubt one of the hottest young Yoruba actresses around. The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic graduate, has acted in quite a number of movies like Sunday Dagboru, Monday Omo Adugbo, Abike Standing, Fere Sise Mi, Eminirekan etc. Though, a native of Oyo state, she was raised in Lafenwa, Abeokuta, Ogun State, where she took to acting after joining Odunlade Adekola Films Production (O.A.F.P).

Temitayo Maryam Adeniyi, who is popularly known as Shakyra is a fast rising Nollywood actress from Ekiti State. She was born and raised in Lagos, where she attended Government College, Ikorodu. She obtained an Ordinary National Diploma in Accounting from Yaba College of Technology, before proceeding to Lagos State University, where she studied Banking and Finance. Shakyra has appeared in more than 20 movies, some of which are Ipinlese, Alani Baba Labake, Amisu, and Ojo Idunnu. She has also produced and starred in three movies of her own, namely Anike Onidoti, Ipinlese and Shakyra.

When Tamilore burst onto the scene a few years back, her talent as an actress got a number of people talking. Without shying away from the truth, however, is the fact that her voluptuous body soon became the talking point. The delectable actress, who has produced and acted in several popular movies, joined the industry after a stint in journalism. She left the pen-pushing profession when she could no longer combine acting and journalism anymore.

The new movie was released nationwide on Monday, August 4, by Asunmo Films Nigeria Limited. It parades a galaxy of stars and discusses love and betrayal as they affect human existence.

Aisha, who cut her teeth under the tutelage of star actor, Femi Adebayo came into limelight after featuring in a self-produced movie titled ‘Irugbin.’ The Lead City University law graduate, who has featured in over 20 movies, has just shot a big budget movie, ‘Shadow.’ The movie parades Desmond Elliot (he also directed the movie), Segun Arinze, Lepacious Bose among others.

BON award winner, Bidemi Kosoko is one of the daughters of veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, who are into acting. The talented Theater Arts graduate from Lagos State University, has over the years carved a niche for herself as one of the fast rising actors in the industry. Bidemi ventured into Nollywood full-time after her university education. She’s one of the few crossover actresses, who feature in English and Yoruba movies. Bidemi, who recently clocked 28, is also set release her debut movie as a producer titled ‘Sikemi’, which stars Femi Adebayo, Damola Olatunji, Adeniyi Johnson and her elder sister, Sola Kosoko.
