After hitting the mark of 229 hours and 58 minutes
of straight DJing, Nigeria’s DJ Obi, whose real name is Obi Ajuonuma has
ended his world record journey due to medical advice at 1:28pm on Saturday, July 2, 2016.
DJ Obi the current Guinness World Record for Longest
Marathon Club DJing previously set at 200 hours with a 240-hour, ten-day
set beginning at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22 and ending at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016.
Tonight an afterparty will be held to celebrate his efforts from 9pm at Sao Cafe, Lekki, the venue of the successful record attempt.
Celebrity friends and people who have supported DJ Obi
throughout the past ten days will be in attendance as, Nigerian rapper,
M.I. hosts the party.
At 229 hours and 58 minutes, he has DJed for longer than
the current world record as he hopes to have an official announcement
and verification by the Guiness World Records team as soon as possible.
