The lecturer who disguised with a veil (Hajib) trying to sneak into the female hostel before he was intercepted.
Witnesses revealed that this is not the first time the lecturer was entering the hostel to visit his girl friend.
After he was caught, we discovered that he has been entering the hostel with the consent of the girl. The owner of the private hostel had barred men from entering the rooms.”
It was further gathered that the lecturer was handed over to a team of army personnel that are manning a check point close to the university.
Daily Trust also gathered that the officers ransacked the lecturer’s house.
When contacted, Director of Public Affairs in the university, Dr. Ismail Shehu, said he heard something like that but that no official report has been made.
He added that when an official report is received, the university will take action.
“As you know, ABU does not tolerate indiscipline. Investigation would be carried out and both the lecturer and student would be punished accordingly. There is no doubt about that,” he said.
